Dr. Daniel Guevara

Dr. Daniel Guevara

DVM

Dr. Daniel Guevara was born and raised in El Paso, Texas. His passion for veterinary medicine began at the age of 13 when he welcomed his first dog, Zorro—a Shih Tzu who is now 16 years old—into his family. That experience inspired him to pursue a career dedicated to improving the lives of animals.

At just 17 years old, Dr. Guevara began working as a veterinary technician, gaining seven years of invaluable hands-on experience before attending veterinary school. During that time, he worked with a wide variety of species, including horses, sheep, llamas, pigs, birds, reptiles, and companion animals, helping him develop a well-rounded foundation in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Guevara earned his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Texas at El Paso before attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his clinical training at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine, where he developed a deep appreciation for the connection between animal, human, and environmental health. This One Health approach continues to influence the compassionate, comprehensive care he provides to his patients.

His professional interests include soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, nutrition, disease research, and equine medicine. Looking toward the future, Dr. Guevara hopes to contribute to the veterinary profession through medical publications and, ultimately, fulfill his goal of owning a veterinary hospital.

Outside of the hospital, Dr. Guevara enjoys traveling, visiting friends and family back home in El Paso, discovering new places around Austin, attending live music events, and staying active. He also loves spending quality time with his adopted Black Labrador Retriever, Zoey.
